Buy local they say! Below are some of my favorites, and some that are featured in my own home. Most of the artists are from below the Mason-Dixon, but the lone ranger who is not still has a certain southern-romantic flair to her artwork. We won't tell you who she is, but we'll say a quick, "well, bless her heart" instead.

Outdoor Dreaming

I think the warmer weather has finally arrived. It's time for al fresco dining, outdoor cocktail parties, and a lot of front porch sittin'. One can always dream of that perfect backyard, so until that day comes...here's to wishful thinking. I'm sure my husband's only request will be a designated spot for his Big Green Egg, and who could part a man from his grill?

Leafy Greens

It sure as heck doesn't feel like springtime around here, so we're going to improvise by creating our own tropical oasis. It began with the Peter Dunham fig leaf pillows, then the palm wallpaper, and now these leafy prints are everywhere, and I just can't get enough.

Pots de Creme

So, in order for me to avoid eating my body weight in candy, chocolate, etc. I've started making little desserts (cookies, breads, etc.) to not only keep the cravings to a minimum, but to get a little more creative in the kitchen. Also, I feel a tad more fancy eating some French dessert than I do Twizzlers, but then I realize I'm still in sweat pants. Hey, I tried.

I found this fantastic recipe of Pots de Creme from the blog, The Pig and Quill . It was extremely quick, easy, and delicious. Give it a try!

Antler Anatomy

I'm not the hunter in the house, but I can appreciate a good rack when I see one. OK, I took that one too far, but I had to throw it in there. Antlers have become a hit over the past couple of seasons, and you're not just seeing them in cabins and winter homes. Stray Dog Designs even gives their paper mache take on taxidermy in the below picture. I've told my husband that his prized possession deer will always have a place in our house-I just love it! Matchbook Magazine's March issue inspired this post with a look inside Sheridan French's home.
